Faith, friendship, fiction, floating adrift at sea all are themes explored in Life of Pi, a 2002 Man Booker Prize winning novel by Yann Martel. However the need to survive and the life of force is a character trait that the zebra and Pi Patel have in common, not to mention uncertainty.
